Individual therapy

Individual therapy for Black women

For Black women who want a steady place to think out loud, with someone who already understands the setting you live in.

A session is 50 minutes, one to one. Mariah works mostly through conversation, and brings in cognitive behavioral skills and narrative work where they help. You decide what to bring.

What sessions look like

  • You talk, Mariah listens and asks

  • Some weeks you plan, some weeks you vent

  • A few skills to try between sessions, if you want them

  • Time at the end to settle before you go back out

Good to know

What this is, and what it is not

  • Talk therapy

Conversation is the work. Mariah does not give orders and does not decide for you.

  • Not an emergency service

Loam does not monitor messages around the clock. In a crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.

  • Your pace

Most people meet weekly or every other week. Mariah sets the pace with you and does not promise a number of sessions.
